A Word from Your Friendly Neighborhood Principal. . .
Parents,
We had a fabulous Book Fair this week! Thank you for supporting your children's love of reading and our library at the same time! The funds we raise from the book fair are used to update and maintain our collection of books and resources in our library! Mrs. Wieman and Ms. Baker want to thank the many volunteers who assisted throughout the week. We couldn't do this without your help!
Our Fall Fun Run was also a success. It was a bit chilly but that didn't stop the children from participating! We also celebrated Unity Day on Wednesday by wearing our orange! We hope that it is clear that RHES seeks to build relationships and through mutual respect and kindness! Thank you to all of our families who supported our school by visiting Chipotle on Wednesday night for our spirit night!
For all our families who celebrate Diwali, we wish you a happy Festival of Lights!!
Sincerely,
Andrew Davis - Principal
Parents - Check your Bus Transportation Routes before Tuesday!
Each fall, the LCPS Transportation Division reviews bus ridership during the first 30 days of school. If an established bus stop is not used for 15 consecutive days, parent/guardians are notified that the stop will be removed from a route (in accordance with Policy 6210.) We encourage you to check ParentVue or the Stopfinder App (find information at lcps.org/Stopfinder) for the most up-to-date information.
Students and families who wish to resume bus transportation can go into ParentVue and select Opt-In for LCPS Transportation and their student will be added to a route and the bus stop will be re-established.
If you would like to sign up for Stopfinder, please send an email to StopfinderLoudoun@lcps.org and request an invitation. If you already have an account and you are experiencing issues with the Stopfinder App, please email Transportation at StopfinderLoudoun@lcps.org.
PTO Trunk or Treat - Friday from 5-6pm at the Track!
Veterans Day Program - Friday, November 11 at 8:30 am - We need your help!
Round Hill ES is pleased to present a live Veterans Day program the morning of Friday November 11, 2022. It has been three years since we have been able to present a live program, and we are excited!
We ask for your help in contributing photos of family members who are veterans of the US Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Space Force). We ask that each family:
- Contribute ONE photo of a family member veteran. If there are multiple veterans in your family, please limit yourself to ONE photo per person. It would be great if the photo shows the veteran in uniform, but it is not a requirement!
- Please include the first and last name of the veteran and the relation to your student(s) in the photo name (ex. JOHN JONES grandfather of Samantha Jones)
- Please upload the photos to the RHL Veterans Day Photos folder.
- Please upload all photos no later than THURSDAY NOVEMBER 3, 2022 to ensure that we have time to include the photographs in the photo montage.
For security reasons, please do NOT send photos of anyone who is currently serving in the US Armed Forces. Please email leonard.baber@lcps.org with any questions you may have.
Congratulations to the Edison House!

Second Stop Bully Prevention Home Links
Over the past two weeks, our School Counselors, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Blair, have been teaching about how to recognize bullying behaviors. We define bullying behaviors as one-sided, repetitive, mean on purpose behaviors that take away one’s power. Please click on the corresponding grade level to learn more about the lesson that was taught.
The Imagination Library - Free books each month for children 5 and under!!
Round Hill Bears,
Have you ever heard of The Imagination Library?
This non-profit program started by Dolly Parton in 1995 has gifted over 161 million books, been recognized by The Library of Congress, and has brought immeasurable joy to recipients, providing high quality, curated books monthly to all children regardless of socioeconomic status from birth to age 5. A local chapter, Roots Grow Wings, was recently started, and now serves all of Western Loudoun! All children 5 and under can enroll now. When you enroll your children or grandchildren, you will receive a free, age appropriate, book for each child enrolled every month until the age of 5. It’s such an amazing program, and it may sound too good to be true, but I promise it’s not. There is no fine print, just sign them up.
Currently we have enrolled over 600 children from birth to age 5 and have gifted over 7000 books since we launched in April 2021! We would love to see that number continue to grow!
