The Eagles' Nest
December 2018
From the Principal's Point of View...
Season’s Greetings,
‘Tis the season to be jolly! We are wishing you joy and peace this holiday season! I hope you enjoyed time with your family and friends during the Thanksgiving break. We accomplished a great deal last month including American Education Week, parent/teacher conferences and the wonderful Veterans Day assembly. Students also enjoyed the Holiday Craft Night! Thank you to all who attended.
December will be a busy month. Special thanks to Home and School for sponsoring our holiday shoppe this week! We will also have our winter concert at 7 p.m. on December 12th. It is a festive time at Eagleville!
Dr. Kochenour has settled in as acting principal and is working alongside Dr. Reddish for the remainder of the month. Dr. Reddish will be on medical leave through March. She and Dr. K continue to plan for a smooth transition. We are excited to announce that homework club will be available to Title I students after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in January. Teachers will send home the form with students they are referring to the program. Attached is the Title I Parent Engagement Policy for Eagleville for your reference.
A reminder that we would like every family to display a car line placard when dropping off/picking up students. The placards help the car line staff identify cars and make certain students are permitted to be transported in that vehicle. Please sign up for a placard if you do not have one. If you do not have a placard, you will be asked security questions by the staff, and staff may have to take extra security steps before releasing students to the vehicle. Finally, a friendly reminder that school starts promptly at 9:05AM. If you arrive to car line after that time, please come around to the front of the building to sign your child into Lobby Guard. The rule of thumb is if there is no adult outside, you must escort your child inside.
Please note that students are required to wear coats, hats and gloves to go outside for recess. For their safety, please make sure students are dressed appropriately for this wintry weather. Shorts are not permitted at this time of the year.
Finally, as we conclude 2018 and look to start a new year, let’s focus on the important things—joy, good health and love. Take time to think about how we can help others, and be a blessing to someone else! Wishing joy and peace!
