ST. MARGARET MARY UPDATES
Preparing and inspiring students to lead meaningful lives, rooted in the teachings of Christ and our Catholic tradition.
SMCS Mission
Meet Mrs. Britzke - Learning Specialist Substitute Teacher
We are pleased to have Liesl Britzke joining our SMM team as a Reading Specialist while Mrs. Brittany Peterson is out on maternity leave. Liesl attended the SMCS school system and currently has 2 children, both who attend(ed) SMM over the past 9 years. She has been an active volunteer in our school system and has also been subbing at SMM since 2020. Liesl has been shadowing Mrs. Peterson this week, and we are fortunate to have her serving our students!
Stations of the Cross
Our Third Grade students will be leading the school in the Stations of the Cross on March 15 and March 29 at 2:00 p.m. The Stations introduce the students to Jesus' Passion, breaking it down into stages that they can reflect upon and remember. All are welcome to attend!
Sacrament of Reconciliation
After spring break, our students in 3rd - 5th grade will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation from Father Nonito. My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Amen
We LOVE our bulletin boards!
Thank you, Caitlin Henriksen, for creating our beautiful bulletin boards! We appreciate you sharing your time and talent!
Neenah Animal Shelter Donations
Girl Scout Troop 2314 is collecting wish list items for the Neenah Animal Shelter this week if you would like to donate! Thank you for your support!

News from the Parish
Calling all families!!! Do you have a child, or children, age 7 and younger that are not Baptized? There were lots of babies born in 2020 and that was a good thing. But many of those babies did not get Baptized because churches were not baptizing. . . they were not having Masses let alone celebrating Sacraments. But now is the time! If your child age 7 or younger needs to be Baptized please contact Amy Bolle at 729-4560 or via email at amatz@smcatholicschools.org for more information about the Sacrament of Baptism. Sacraments can easily fall through the cracks of life but do not worry about it! We can help you. Let us build the family God through Baptism!!!
Notes from our Parent Organization
Zephyrfest Basket
Zephyrfest, the fantastic fundraiser supporting all of our SMCS campuses, is coming soon! To show our school's support, St. Margaret Mary is sponsoring a Fun in the Sun basket for Zephyrfest 2023! The basket will include essentials for a fun day at the lake, at the stadium, or even in the backyard, including a YETI cooler, an outdoor collapsible utility wagon, beach towels, s'mores roasting sticks and chocolate covered marshmallows, a white jasmine citronella candle, and lots of yummy drink mixers and BBQ sauces.
To make this basket a success, we need your help! We'd greatly appreciate a contribution to offset the cost of filling the basket. Please sign up using the link below, and send cash or check (made out to SMCS) to the SMM office in an envelope labeled Zephyrfest Basket. We'd love to collect all contributions by Friday, March 31st.

Volunteer reminders
We are so thankful for all of our school volunteers! As a quick reminder, the Diocese of Green Bay requires that all school volunteers (including lunch room volunteers, field trip chaperones, and classroom volunteers) complete the VIRTUS training, complete a background check, and sign the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct document prior to volunteering.
There have been updates to our documentation requirements in 2022 and 2023. If you believe you have completed these steps, but have not yet volunteered this year, please reach out to Mrs. Schira or Mrs. Charapata the office to confirm your records match the school’s records.
If you have not yet started this process, but plan to volunteer this year, please reach out to Mrs. Schira or Mrs. Charapata in the office, and they can help you get started. Thank you for all you do for our school!
