The congo river is around 750 ft. deep and 2,920 mi. long which makes it the fifth longest river in the world.
Islands of the Congo
In the Congo's banks you can find over 4,000 islands more than 50 are at least 10 miles in length. It is because of these islands that some stretches of the Congo are unnavigable. It has been estimated that almost 250 mi. of the Congo are unnavigable because of these islands plus a number of cataracts, in particular at Livingstone Falls.
