The Plate Tectonic Theory
Report By: Atticus Brumley and Jaron Bascom
The surface of the Earth is covered with "plates". These plates move across the Earth's surface in order to form new things. Such as new continents, mountains, underwater ridges, volcanoes, valleys, underwater volcanoes, and islands! These "plates" don't just go where they want. They have these things called fault lines! Fault lines are the boundaries of the "plates". When fault lines meet they can create mountains, volcanoes, and many other things. When they separate from each other they create valleys, underwater seacliffs, and some other things.
