Summer Homeschooling Advice
4 Fun Ways to Enjoy Summer Homeschooling
Our family just wrapped up a 3-day soccer tournament and the kids are prepping for their year-end piano recital. I need to sign my daughter up for the summer swim team this weekend and my oldest needs to decide which merit badges he wants to work on at Scout camp. My husband just brought freeze pops home from Costco and my youngest is working on a summer activity wish list.
Summer is here, you guys. We made it!
I’m ready to grab a slice of watermelon, hop in the hammock, and get lost in a delicious book. But, first… I have to figure out our summer homeschooling plans.
Summer Homeschooling Works Well For Many Families
As much as I would like to while away my summer hours reading in a hammock, my kids crave structure. Early in our homeschool journey, I tried taking the summer completely off and it made for rocky re-entry in September. I’ve learned that our family thrives when we maintain a little structure during the summer months.

Enrichment
Reminder: Enrichment Ordering System (EOS) accounts will be down over the summer until ordering opens again on July 15th.
Important upcoming Enrichment dates and information can be found here!
Returning library materials? Please keep in mind:
Parents should still have access to their old library system accounts. By logging into your account, you should be able to see which items are checked out to your child(ren).
If you are unable to access your old library account, please feel free to call the school and speak with a Library Specialist, who can check to see if any items are still checked out to your family.
There is no need to separate enrichment and library materials when returning them to the library.
There is no need to add library materials to students’ inventory sheets when returning them to the library. Each library item has an asset tag on it, which our librarians will use to check it in.
Thank you very much for your help with getting those items returned!

ACADEMIC DECATHLON (9TH-12TH GRADE) AND PENTATHLON (6TH-8TH GRADE)
Thank you to all who were able to attend the information session for the Academic Decathlon and Pentathlon information sessions. Below are the links to the Parent and Student info sessions that were held. It was great to see the enthusiasm for new students and parents wanting to learn about the programs.
The Interest survey is also a great way for families to get a preview of the material over the summer and have a "jump-start" for the school year as we send information over the summer. We have an amazing response so far, and the program is continuing to grow - which is great news. For all of the schools, there is a response of 74 families in just three weeks.
