THUNDER DAY OF SERVICE 12/15/18
Thunder Day of Service was such a success last year that we have decided to double down on it! This year we will do a morning AND afternoon shift at the Oklahoma food Bank (200 delegates per shift) then all 400 of us will attend the Saturday evening Thunder game against the Clippers (gates open at 6 pm).
Registration will go live September 20th at 11:30 am. The limit per school is 15 (this includes advisors) and the cost is $35 per person. So as you register decide if you want to do an am shift ending at noon and explore OKC until the gates open at 6 pm or do the afternoon shift where you can catch a quick meal and head to the game. Also have shirt sizes for your delegates as you register. Your shirt sizes are locked in even though you may change delegates. Shirts are Canvas brand--which are super soft, so I always recommend going up a size as they shrink.
Programming includes:
- T-shirt created by Thunder Marketing Team
- Leadership presentation by TBD
- 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Oklahoma Food Bank (1st Shift)
- 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Oklahoma Food Bank (2nd Shift)
- Community Service Project through Oklahoma Food Bank (9:30 a.m.- 12 p.m.)
- Tour
- Hunger Simulation

SEEKING 2020 CONVENTION HOST
We are currently seeking a school with administrative support and hotel availability to step up to take on the most consequential challenge a school can take on--hosting the 2020 State Convention. We are prepared to walk you through the process and have previous hosts ready to support you. Hosts will tell you that this is the most unifying experience your school will ever have. Hosting not only allows you to work with your core STUCO, but the quiet leaders throughout your building who don't run for office but can easily chair a committee or serve on one. While these students will need to see the convention in November to truly get what OASC State Convention is and they will lean heavily on you in the beginning, there is nothing more satisfying than watching their independence in problem-solving as the actual convention approaches. THIS. IS. THE. ULTIMATE LEADERSHIP. EXERCISE.
