Happy Friday Springman Families!


Welcome to September and a 4-day weekend! Take a look below for friendly reminders and fun updates. We thank everyone for your continued support as we continue to navigate the new year. Have a wonderful and restful weekend.


Don't forget, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th. We will return on Wednesday the 8th with a late start. Doors at Springman open at 9:00 am.

Travel Guidelines Over The Holiday Weekend

If you travel anywhere (that is not Vermont) this long weekend, UNvaccinated students will need to Quarantine for 7 days (COVID test on day 3-5 after return to Glenview).

Morning Announcements!

Morning annoucements are uploaded each day in PowerSchool for parents to view. You can navigate to the announcements by logging into PowerSchool and clicking on the "School Bulletin" on the left navigation menu on the splash page. If you have difficulty accessing PowerSchool or need help setting up an account, please contact our main office at (847)998-5020.

Late Arrivals & Early Dismissal Procedures

Students arriving late or leaving early should enter and exit the building through the main office only, on the Washington side of the building (Door A).


Students arriving late should enter the main office, sign in on the attendance iPad, and receive a pass to class. If your student needs to leave early for any reason, please send them with a note to give to front office staff in the morning or call the attendance line. Your student can exchange the note for a pass to show their teacher at the time of dismissal. They should come to the front office, sign out on the iPad, and wait for you to arrive.

Student Item Drop-Off

If your student needs an item for their school day, you may drop it off on the grade leveled cart in the vestibule outside the front office on the Washington side of the building. Please label the item with the students name. iPads or items of higher value may given directly to office staff for safe keeping. While we do our best to get items to students, the volume of activity in the building may not allow for direct delivery to students. Parents may drop off lunch, but direct food deliveries to students are not allowed. Caffeinated drinks and sodas are also not allowed at school. Thank you for your cooperation!

BPAC NUEVA INTRODUCCION

STEM Encore Class Project

STEM is working in groups to build an ankle foot orthosis for a patient with CP. Prototype designs are being finished and presented this week.

Infinity & Explorers Egg Drop Challenge

Seventh grade Science students worked hard this week designing, building, and testing prototypes to keep eggs safe when dropped. They had a lot of fun and did an awesome job! Ask your student if they participated in this, and, if so, how their team did!

Students wishing to try out for a sport should pick up a packet that contains the following:

Interscholastic Parent Authorization Form

Concussion Information Form


PHYSICALS + PAPERWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO TRYOUTS

Physical exam that was conducted within the last 395 days. standard physical exams with authorization to participate in interscholastic sports OR a completed pre-participation examination form are acceptable.


Additional materials, signature pages, and schedules may be included for each sport, so please review packets carefully. Students should bring completed forms to the nurse FIRST so that she can confirm that they have medical clearance to participate in tryouts. She will sign the form and the student may bring packets to tryouts or return them to the coach.

Activity Bus Information

Only those students with pre-scheduled activities may utilize the busses. Every Springman student is has an assigned an activity bus. The bus will pick up at 4:10 pm and is available Monday - Thursday. Activity routes can be located here: https://www.glenview34.org/departments/transportation
