Where Are We Now? - The Implementation Update
We now have over 16,000 users in the platform! Congratulations to everyone who has made this such a successful experience!
Worth noting:
- Parents should not be using their student’s login credentials. Please encourage them to use their own credentials.
- We have a process to create advisor roles for Resource teachers and paras. Please submit a help ticket to help@asd20.org so that we can help you setup this role.
- As we make progress with those features, we’ll communicate updates.
We keep moving forward thanks to you! Here’s what we’ve seen since the 2018-2019 school year began:
Almost 1,875,000 total visits
Almost 27 million page views
Over 396,000 files uploaded
Almost 455,000 submissions
Over 65,000 comments posted
Keep in mind that we’re at the beginning of a journey. We have a lot of ground to cover and we’re just learning the terrain. Communication is key! Partner with us by participating, asking questions, and providing feedback so that we can continue to grow. That participation is helping us work to meet your needs.
If something unusual happens, communicate it to your DLC who will reach out to us if they need additional support. We’re happy to help, plus we won’t know what to fix or improve unless we hear from you.
Observational Grading
Observational Grading is a feature in Schoology where the instructor can do any or all of the following:
Enter the entire score of a manually graded assessment in the platform.
Enter the students’ answers for each question manually in the platform.
Why would you want to do this? Here are some potential uses for this:
You’re working with younger students, but still want the data.
The assessment is a performance assessment.
The assessment is on paper and you haven’t had the opportunity, yet, to enter it in our new platform.
Your students don’t have access to a digital device.
With this feature, instructors aren’t limited to age, access to a device, or question type in how they measure student performance.
For more detailed instructions on how to use this feature with students at any level, visit Schoology’s Observational Grading information page.

Summer Institute and 20Learn
Yes! We will be there to support you!
We are planning a variety of Summer Institute courses to meet the needs of all our 20Learn users at any and every level of experience. Registration has not begun, yet, but check out the flyer attached for some general information.
In addition to leveled courses, we will have offerings on assessment design and creation, badging, and advanced course design in addition to supported work time.
Some Things Can't Be Shared Enough
The sun will set on ALEC at the end of the school year.
You’ve heard it before, but we can’t spread the word enough - ALEC will no longer be supported after the school year ends!
This is our last semester with ALEC. If you have ANY course content in ALEC, please see your DLC for help in downloading a backup of your materials. You can store the download in your OneDrive or upload it to Schoology.
