A Message from Principal Richardson
Hello Bobcat Family!
I hope everyone is starting to settle in and get used to the fast pace of “Back to School.” Now that we have had a little time to get our feet under us, I’d like to get some feedback from parents. Please complete the survey below so that we can continue to make improvements and make O’Dell the best school for all students.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, feedback or celebrations.

Important Changes to O'Dell Morning Traffic Flow
Starting on Monday, August 22nd, we will utilize both the front and the back carpool lines for morning carpool. There will be crossing guards at both driveways to help students cross safely.
When entering the parking lots for afternoon carpool pick-up, parents must have their carpool tag number visible. Students wait at designated spots on the sidewalk.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students are dismissed from the front of the building to the two car lanes.
4th and 5th grade students are dismissed from the back doors.
Younger siblings of 4th and 5th grade students are picked up in the 4th/5th grades carpool line.
Dismissal for Students Who Walk, Ride Bikes, Skateboards, and Scooters
Students who walk, ride bikes, skateboards, and scooters are dismissed from the south doors by the enclosed playground. They are dismissed five minutes before car-riders to allow time for them to be safely away from the school before cars start pulling through the lot. Parents can walk up to the doors and wait outside to greet students. However, parents may not park in faculty parking and walk over to get students.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Parking in handicap spots is not allowed unless authorized to do so.
Parking during morning carpool and walking students to the school entrance is prohibited.
Doors open at 7:30 a.m. We ask that parents not drop off children prior to 7:30 a.m. as they are unattended and without supervision.

● Reservation and payment must be submitted at least one week before the selected date to ensure your child’s birthday will be posted on the marquee. Any messages submitted within one week are not guaranteed to be displayed on the date you requested.
● Messages will be displayed from 5:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on the date you request.
● Requests can only come from a parent or guardian.
From the Counselor's Corner
This month we’re talking about the character trait of Citizenship. The definition we are using in class is:
Citizenship: being respectful and responsible to make your home, school, and community a better place
Family Conversation Starters:
What are some of the things in your community that need improving?
What could you do about it?
Family Challenge:
Talk about ways your family could help in your neighborhood community. Choose a way to show your pride in your neighborhood community such as: participate in or plan a neighborhood project such as recycling or picking up litter, assist an older neighbor with a task, or start a neighborhood Little Free Library.
O'DELL PTA SPIRIT FUNDRAISERS
O'Dell PTA is selling Bobcat Spirit water bottles that can be personalized with your child's name! Deadline to order water bottles is Monday, August 29th.
