Radiation
Radiation therapy is a cancer treatment. It uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and stop them from spreading. About half of all cancer patients receive it. The radiation may be external, from special machines, or internal, from radioactive substances that a doctor places inside your body.
Side Effects: loss of appetite, nausea, feeling weak, headaches, weak immune system.
Surgercally removed
Doctor goes in surgery to remove/ cut out skin effected by melanoma.
Side Effects: infection or scaring.
Chemotherapy
category of cancer treatment that uses chemical substances, especially one or more anti-cancer drugs that are given as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen. Chemotherapy may be given with a curative intent, or it may aim to prolong life or to reduce symptoms.
Side Effects: loss of hair, nausea, loss of appetite, weak immune system, feeling weak or lethargic, shortness of breath, vision impairment, weight gain or loss, dry/cracked lips.
