PAC Anti-Fundraiser - ENDS November 16! LAST WEEK!
Thank you for your enthusiasm for our Anti-Fundraiser Fundraiser we are doing! We have received many donations and we thank you for your support so we can do more for your kids! Some have been asking about tax receipts for your donations, so we looked into it. From today forward, tax receipts are available for donations of $25 or more. They must be given by cheque written to “Hanover School Division”. The money will then go back to MMS for our project. If you have already donated by cheque or etransfer to MMS PAC and you gave more than $25, please contact us by email at mitchellmspac@gmail.com. We will refund you for your donation and you can donate it back again to “Hanover School Division” to get your tax receipt. Please send any questions to our email. The fundraiser will be extended to November 16, 2018 so you can spread the word to friends, families, and supporters of MMS. Let’s reach that goal of $3000!
We have set incentives to get the kids excited about the ANTI-Fundraiser Fundraiser:
- At $1000 raised: Kids get an Extra Lunch hour Makerspace and open Gym Time
- At $2000 raised: Kids get 2 periods of ‘Choice Afternoon’ (Day Wonder-esque)
- At $3000 raised: Kids get 1/2 day of Day Wonder (each kid signs up for 2 x 1 hour sessions)
- BONUS: If we raise $4000 we will WAX Mr. Mead’s legs!
Thanks again!!

Our School Survey
Dear Parents or Guardians:
Re: Tell Them From Me/OurSCHOOL Survey for Grades 4 to 12 Students, 2018/2019.
As part of our ongoing efforts to increase school effectiveness, Manitoba Education and Training will continue with the implementation of an online student survey called Tell Them From Me/OurSCHOOL (TTFM/OurSCHOOL). This is a well-known survey tool which gives students the opportunity to express their thoughts anonymously in terms of
various school improvement initiatives.
TTFM/OurSCHOOL was created by The Learning Bar (TLB) and is based on the work of Dr. Doug Willms, a researcher who is well-known nationally and internationally for his work on the development of educational monitoring systems. To obtain more information, please refer to TLB’s website at www.thelearningbar.com .
Each student receives a randomly generated username and password, so that their identity and responses cannot be linked. All students from Grades 4 to 12 will be given the opportunity to participate in the survey, but their participation is not mandatory.
The survey questions have been specifically designed for elementary students (Grades 4 to 6) and secondary students (Grades 7 to 12). The provincial survey will require approximately 30 minutes to complete, or 5 minutes for the bullying component, 15 minutes for the career-related questions, and 10 minutes for school-level questions.
Students will be asked questions that will assist the school in determining whether bullying is occurring, what types of bullying students may be experiencing, and where and when bullying is taking place. They will also be asked questions related to career exploration and planning.
Our school will participate in the fall of 2018.
If you have any questions, please contact the school guidance counselor, Mrs. Holly
Storey at 204-320-9488.
Thank you for your support in this important initiative.
