Message from the Principal

Hello Prairie Friends and Families,

We are looking forward to celebrating all of the hard work our Prairie learners have done throughout 2020 on Tuesday. We will celebrate with pajama day and many all-school guest readers, along with an all-school read in! We would love for our virtual learners to join us when they are able to after their live instruction finishes up in the morning. Some virtual teachers will be having their classes join us for the morning read alouds also. The schedule for Tuesday is as follows:

9:00am Read Aloud with Mrs. Edwards (School Counselor)

10:00am Read Aloud with 5th Grade Readers

11:30am Read Aloud with Coach Courtney (Playworks)

1:00pm Read Aloud with 5th Grade Readers

2:00-3:00pm All School Read-In (read books of your choice in your classroom or from the comfort of your home!)

3:00pm Read Aloud with Mrs. Solberg

I will invite all virtual students to these read alouds through a message in WebEx Teams on Monday and again on Tuesday morning. We look forward to celebrating together through reading while in our pajamas with everyone on Tuesday!

We are Team Prairie!

We are stronger together!

Carly Solberg

Snowman Maracas

East Alternative School students made these adorable snowmen maracas for the EC, K4 and K5 classes at Prairie Elementary School. Although the East students were not able to deliver them personally to see their reaction, a couple of the teachers captured their reactions while school social worker at both, Jody Ebbinger-Bentley, handed them out. The students were so excited and had fun singing and using their new maracas!

Early Pick Up for Students

If you need to pick up your student early for any reason or for appointments during the day, please come in to the lobby and buzz the office. We will call your child down at that point and sign them out from the office. It is helpful to email the teacher and Mrs. Anderson of expected times so we can try to have them ready to leave.

Dropping off Supplies

We have a new procedure in place if you need to drop off student materials during the day (lunch, homework, jackets, iPads, etc). The outside door to the lobby of the school is open. There are "drop off tickets" on the table inside the door. Please complete your child's name, grade/teacher, and the item being delivered with any special instructions. We will deliver it to the classroom just as soon as we can. Thank you for your support.
