The decorating committee is working tirelessly to insure that our venue will be transformed into a floral wonderland. The raffle committee has been out seeking prizes you won't want to miss.

Hawk's Nest Grand Opening!

On March 27, the Cafeteria will be re-opening as "The Hawk's Nest", which was the name voted upon by the Vernfield students. Students in Grades 1-5 had the opportunity to submit a design for the menu that day, and winning designs will be printed on the menu for each grade. There will be special treats and a commemorative keepsake to add to the celebration. Students - be on the look out for a visit from SPIRIT!

We are looking for parents to help make a special Hawk's Nest treat for the boys and girls. You can sign up to make Rice Krispie treat nests for your child's classroom here. The recipe approved by Mrs. Fox and instructions are available below.

Reading Fightin Phils Ticket Book Fundraiser

The Reading Phillies have given us the opportunity to offer books of 6 general admission tickets for $27. Vernfield HSA earns $10 for every book purchased. Ticket books can also be purchased online here. In order to have your tickets for opening day, orders must be in by March 30th.

In Case You Missed It...

LITERACY DVD - The committee needs YOUR help! If you are available for even a short time during the day, please consider signing up to help with the taping of the students. The DVD Literacy team has made it very easy for volunteers with detailed instructions. Please consider signing up for a slot or two in order to ensure that your child gets to have this precious keepsake at the end of 5th Grade! Kindergarten Sign Up (week of 3/25)

Kindness Calendar Challenge - during the month of March. Parents: initial the boxes as your child completes the challenges and return the calendar at the end of March. The class with the greatest percentage of completed Kindness Calendars will win a reward for their class!

Philadelphia Union Game - We are offering 2 dates to choose from: May 4th at 7:30 pm and May 18th at 7:30 pm. (On May 4, for an additional fee, sleep over and get soccer training in the morning!) EMC Elementary Panther Run

EMC Elementary School will be holding their annual Panther's Run on Saturday, May 4th at 9:00am at EMC Elementary School. Registration is $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 1-mile fun run. Register by 4/20 to guarantee a t-shirt, and after that date, the cost of registration goes up. EMC is working hard to raise funds for a new playground after their old playground did not pass inspection. Please come out and support our community!

SouderTHON is Friday, March 22 at SAHS! Community Hours are 6-9 pm. All ages are welcome. $5 admission and $15 for a family of 3+. The Community Hour activities include a moon bounce, Science Live, gaming, dancing, slime creations, character meet and greets, food (Chick-fil-A, Dunkin' Donuts, Downtown Scoop) raffles and more. This year's SouderTHON pledges to raise $50,000+ that will benefit pediatric cancer patients in our community. All donations will benefit The Peter Powerhouse Foundation, which will provide donations to treatment facilities as well as provide support to researchers to improve the lives of childhood cancer survivors. Donations can be made to SAHS and mailed to Amy Tarlo or Jennifer Granito at 625 Lower Road, Souderton, PA 18964.

Monday, March 25 -- Souderton Area School District is excited to announce our first Town Hall Meeting! District administrators and the school board welcome the community to attend this important event, where the state of the District will be discussed - including updates on programs, budget and school safety. The event will take place at 6:30 pm at Indian Crest Middle School Auditorium.

Thursday, March 28 - Sunday, March 31 - SAHS Production of Mary Poppins. Tickets are $10. See flyer for more information.

SACE Summer Program Registration is Now Open! Summer Adventure Day Camp offers full day camp with before/after care and day trips. Summer Workshops in a variety of topics and interests are offered for campers interested in 1-week programs. See the online brochure for details. Register online here.

SACE Winter/Spring Evening Classes -- The Winter-Spring semester begins later this month with more than 100 interesting classes for all ages. Beat the winter doldrums and learn something new.
