#OneTeamOneMission
Retroactive P-EBT for Summer 2022 will be delivered to households in April!
If your child attended Bandon schools last school year, they are automatically eligible for Pandemic-EBT benefits as Bandon School District offered free meals for all students under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in 2022.
All eligible children will get a new EBT card in the mail, whether they are new to P-EBT or have received P-EBT benefits in the past. Each child within the household who is eligible to receive P-EBT benefits will receive their own letter in the mail before receiving their benefits.
If a child is receiving SNAP, P-EBT benefits will not be issued onto the EBT card (also called Oregon Trail card) associated with the SNAP case. The household will receive a separate P-EBT card in the mail.
For example:
If there are four eligible children in one household, the household will receive four separate letters and four P-EBT cards (one letter and one EBT card addressed to each child).Candidate Forum April 19, 2023 – Candidates for Bandon School Board
The League of Women Voters of Coos County will present a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 19, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Bandon City Council Chambers, 555 Highway 101, Bandon. At this in-person event, the public will have the opportunity to hear from the candidates for Bandon School Board. Audience members are invited to submit written questions on the forms provided at the door. No one is permitted to wear any campaign gear inside the hall. A video recording of the forum will be made and posted online subsequently for the convenience of those who cannot attend.
The League of Women Voters of Coos County is a non-partisan organization and provides candidate forums as a voter service project to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government.

Character Strong
Valley Flora wanted to alert you to a few new programs that we - and other NW farms - are spearheading in in order to make fresh, local produce more accessible to low income families in our community. We’re trying to get the word out as widely as possible. If you have a spot to hang a poster (attached below), or room for a mention in your next newsletter, that would be wonderful! We are happy to provide you with a color-printed poster, just let us know! Also, please feel free to forward this email to anyone in your networks who would benefit from knowing about these programs.
- Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB): a program that helps low-income Oregonians purchase more fruits and vegetables while supporting local, family farms. Folks with SNAP benefits can purchase one of our farm’s community supported agriculture (CSA) shares and DUFB will provide 1:1 matching funds (they pay half the cost of the CSA with SNAP and DUFB covers the other half). It's a win-win that strengthens our community by providing better access to fresh, healthy food while helping local farmers earn a living.
- CSA Sliding Scale: our farm is offering a voluntary sliding scale payment system in order to make our food more accessible to everyone in the community. It’s been a beautiful example of community - and humanity - at its best.
