Season's Readings!
Chapter Book Challenge Update
Students in grades 3-5 have been reading the SC Children's Nominee books in order to participate in our Chapter Book Challenge. We will have our 1st party goal as soon as I can work out a time with MAP testing schedules. I plan to have the party before we get out for Winter Break.
Now the students should be reading for the 2nd goal. I will put new book marks in your boxes to help students keep track of the books they are reading. Remember I don't need the bookmarks. I keep track of participation with the Book Review Form the students complete for each book. Please let me know if you have any questions about this or follow the link below which leads to the website with all the information about this reading challenge.
Reading Makes Winter More Bearable! I would love to offer a new at home reading challenge for grades K-2, starting in January. What I would challenge them to do is read as many books over the month of January as possible. Each student would receive a log at the beginning of the month, once it is completed, students would return the log for a new log. The student who reads the most books at home during the month of January would win a stuffed bear!
I would love to have a winner for each homeroom in grades K-2, that means 13 bears. I am hoping that some of you may have a gently used or new bear that you no longer need or want and be willing to donate as a prize. I am going to try and contact business after the holidays to see if I can get some Christmas bears that didn't sell, but I don't know if I'll be able to get 13. Please let me know if you are willing to help.
