The Eager Eagle
Weekly Memo for STAFF
Week of May 26-29

grades
To ease in having to do grade edits, Jen and I will scroll through gradebooks and offer support as needed.
chromebook return
We anticipate may not bringing the devices back; office staff and administration will handle reaching out to those families in June.
4th Quarter Awards
We will host our 4th quarter awards live on Facebook the morning of May 28. We will start with kindergarten and continue with awards until we finish with 5th grade. Kindergarten will begin on live stream Facebook at 8:30 am. We estimate around 15 minutes for each grade level. These will be recorded and posted on YouTube as well.
Approximate Times:

1st grade 8:45-9:00
2nd grade 9:00-9:15

Awards PIck Up and color bombing
Parents are invited to come during their oldest child's designated time to pick up their child's awards and participate in the color bombing. You are more than welcome to come and say goodbye as well!
Kindergarten and 1st grades: 9:00-9:45
2nd and 3rd grades: 10:00-10:45
4th grade: 11:00-11:45
5th grade: see info below!

5th grade send off
Staff will park in the parking lot but plan on standing on the grassy island in the bus circle. 5th grade parents are invited to come to our bus circle at 1:00 to get awards, participate in the color bombing, and have a chance to see us celebrating their hard work as they end their time at SES.
If you are willing, please join us at 1:00 in the bus circle (under the awning if the weather is not ideal)...we will have music. Feel free to make posters and get creative! Let's show our 5th graders how proud we are of them and give them the send off they deserve!

2020-2021 School Grade Calculations
To accommodate the missing year of assessment results, learning gains would be calculated based on the improvement from the "prior-prior" year to the current year. For example, a learning gain would be based on improvement from the 2019 Grade 3 FSA ELA to the 2021 Grade 5 FSA ELA.
What this means....
Next year's 3rd grade and 4th grade students will solely count for proficiency on the state assessment. 5th grade students will count for both learning gains and proficiency.
5th grade, we will notify you of bottom quartile students.
