The Orangutan is a red haired ape.
How does the mother care for its young?
The mother carries its child until it reaches the age of two, breastfeeds until the age of 8, and they travel together until the child reaches the age of 10
How does it get food and what does it eat?
Young Orangutans breast feed until the age of 8, while other orangutans obtain fruit by climbing high in trees
Where does it live and what is its habitat?
The only place Orangutans live naturally are on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. Its natural habitat is the Tropical Rain Forests of Sumatra and Borneo
What are its enemies and how does it protect itself?
The orangutans natural enemy are the tigers of Sumatra and Borneo. It defends from these ground predators by climbing high into the tree tops.
