Hello McKay Community,
We are officially underway with Q3! We hope your transition to this quarter was smooth. If you have questions about your schedule or assigned classes please connect directly with your counselor. As you have heard, the Governor announced this week that High School athletes will be playing sports this year! We look forward to watching our student-athletes compete this Spring. Practices start for Cross Country, Boys and Girls Soccer, Football, and Volleyball on February 22nd. If you are interested in participating this year please review the information below to register.

- Do you have students interested in playing sports this year? As of now we are fully preparing for various sport seasons to start play in March. Athletics Registration is Open on Family ID (Football – Brandis Piper, Cross Country – Jason Zellick, Soccer – Juan Llamas / Vicky Cruz, Volleyball – Scott Coons). If you have students who are interested, they can register online. Please connect with Joanna Rubio in the Student Center, or reach out to the head coach for the sport of interest. There are NO ATHLETIC FEES THIS YEAR. Athletic participation is FREE!
Are you an early graduate? McKay Senior Launch is an opportunity to take classes at Chemeketa Community College. It's free, you get college credit with support from staff at McKay, and you will be ready for continuing your college education. Any college credits earned through this program will be a great head start should you continue at Chemeketa or choose to transfer the credits to the college or university of your choice. This opportunity does not affect Oregon Promise or any other financial aid. What classes are you interested in taking next year? Forecasting for the 2021-2022 school year will begin mid-February, 2021. This will be done through your CCR class this year. Stay connected to the McKay website for information. Emails and autodialers will be additional forms of communication. Grades 9-11 will begin mid-February and upcoming 9th graders will begin late February to early March.
Spring Conferences - Save the date! Spring conference will be held on March 15th, additional information will be posted soon.
