GOODNOE GAZETTE
November 4, 2022
Dear GES Families,
Thank you to all of the families who were able to come watch our Halloween parade on Monday. And a HUGE thank you to the parents who organized and ran the Halloween parties for the students. All of the children looked fantastic in their costumes!
The 5th grade students had a wonderful time at the 2nd annual Turkey Trot! Students enjoyed an obstacle course and danced to music! The purpose of this event was for students to gain a better understanding of community outreach while having some fun! Fifth grade collected over 400 cans for the Wrightstown Food Pantry. Great job, students!!
Next up is Goodnoe's annual Veterans Day program next Thursday, November 10th. Please ensure your child/ren bring a towel or blanket to sit on. See below for more information. We practiced a run through of the program this morning and the students and staff are excited to honor our veterans!
Temperatures look prefect this weekend! I hope you enjoy some time outdoors!
Go Phillies! Go Philadelphia Union!

Got Candy?
Too much candy lying around your house? Don’t worry! Send it into school. Have your student drop it off in the front office thru 11/9. We are partnering with Newtown Dentistry for Kids and will ship our unwanted candy off the troops overseas.
Halloween parade, parties, and school wide BINGO!

Congratulations Rocky's winners!
Each day at school, a Rocky’s Wall of Fame sticker is given to at least 10 different students when recognized for meeting expectations for being Respectful, Responsible, and/or Safe. When students receive a Rocky’s Wall of Fame sticker, they are called at the end of the day to the board outside the office to select a randomly numbered star. Their name is then written on that star and placed on the board in the numbered space that corresponds with the number on the star. When 10 stars line up in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally), the ten students whose stars are in that row win a reward. The board is then cleared and we begin filling it again. Congratulations to those winning students! We continue to be proud of so many students who make good choices!

A Note from the School Nurse
The health office is welcoming clothing donations. As the weather is getting cooler, we are in need of some warmer clothing. Some of the items we would appreciate and happily accept:
-Pants (size 5t - adult x-small)
-T-shirts (any size)
-Sweatshirts or Jackets (any size)
-Socks
Thank you for your support!
Toys at School
I'd like to provide a reminder to families about the need for children to keep toys at home. Recently, there have been issues with Pokémon cards and stuffed animals particularly. There are challenges that face the school staff when cards/items are lost or damaged. It results in hurts feelings and an intrusion on instructional time. To avoid these issues, we ask that toys stay at home. Thank you for your help to reinforce this message.
SCHOOL WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT
During the past few weeks, your child’s class has been reviewing the SW-PBIS (School Wide- Positive Behavior Interventions & Support) school expectations. The lessons included a class discussion, modeling and practicing of respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors in the locations listed on the school-wide matrix. Your child’s class also learned about the voice levels that are expected for the different locations. Please take some time to review the matrix and voice level chart with your child. Our school website has a SW-PBIS link with more specific information regarding the structure of Goodnoe’s School Wide Positive Interventions & Support system. Check out more information at the links below.
