"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." - William James
With Appreciation:
- Big kudos to our Lunch Team - Rosa, Wence, & Vickie - you ladies work hard every day to make sure our students' nutritional needs are met. You always do so with a smile and you take the extra few seconds to connect with students and ensure they are having a wonderful day - thank you for all that you do!
- Hats off to Lorri for her work as a home hospital teacher - putting in the extra time to support her student 1:1 and ensure his academic and social/emotional needs are met
- Thank you to Darren, Lauretta, and Laura for taking a day away from their classroom to be a part of our hiring committee for our open positions. It was a long day and we were confronted with really difficult decisions, but they were all in and offered valuable insight!
Field Trip Reminders
- Field Trip Food Request forms are due 14 days before your field trip
- Please work with Rosa to coordinate the picking up of lunches before you head out
- Please stop in the office before you head out on a field trip to be sure you have all medical paperwork, and to ensure any meds have been picked up
- Field trip forms are linked in our Staff Portal under "Filing Cabinet" > "Helpful Info & Policy Info" > alpha under F
Quick Reminders
- The district nurse has indicated that students can bring their own sunscreen & chapstick to school. Three rules with the sunscreen - no aerosols, they have to be able to apply it without help from staff/peers, and students cannot share their sunscreen with peers. I sent out a reminder again that students CANNOT bring OTC or prescription allergy (or other meds) to school. If you see this happening, please let Jen know ASAP so we can follow up with the family
- Please take 20 seconds to fill this out: click here - we need a response from EVERY certificated and classified staff member!
- Volunteer Breakfast is on Tuesday, 5/21 from 7:30-8:30 am in the Library - get the invite here; see the email sent on 4/28 for all the details
- Lunch with Colts - if every student in your class has had lunch with Jen & Kristen this year, feel free to offer the lunch spot to a students for a second time - perhaps as an incentive for excellent behavior, a reward for meeting an academic goal, or just because the kiddo could use a little extra attention. We'll be lunching with students through Th., 5/30.

Gate Duty
Thanks to everyone who has been able to help out with this volunteer duty - it's much appreciated. Some of you cannot help out due to other responsibilities - and that's okay too!
I think that anyone who does this duty will tell you it's a great way to start your day! Big thanks to the staff who have helped out to make this happen!
