8th Grade Families- Mark These Events Down!
Please mark these below dates on your calendar, and let us know if you have any questions. It has been a true pleasure to serve your students and your family. It is hard to let them go on to Little Elm High School, but we do so with anticipation of the great things they will accomplish. Don’t forget we look forward to graduation invitations coming our way! #PrestwickProud
Our learners will attend LEHS for an orientation, tour and question and answer question session on Monday, May 15th from 9 am -12:00 pm. Students will come to Prestwick and travel via buses to LEHS. They have pink permission slips coming home and 100% of students will participate.
The next event will be Award Ceremonies on May 17th from 6:00-7:00 pm. Students and families receiving awards for academic excellence and high character will be notified that they will get awards by staff. Please join us!
Our final farewell to our 8th graders will take place on May 26th at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. This will include a procession through the campus and closing ceremony in our cafe. Please bring signs, posters and any other fun events as we celebrate them and bid them much success. Feel free to dress wacky and embarrass them if you so wish. :) Students are free to leave with families after this event. We can’t wait to see you!

Staff Spotlight
Greetings Lobos! For this week’s staff spotlight, we would like to recognize our Elementary School “Lobo of the Year” (Teacher of the Year), Mrs. Erika Malcom. Mrs. Malcom was nominated and voted by her PSA peers and is a prime example of someone who embodies PSA’s mission, vision, and core values. Mrs. Erika Malcom is our 4th grade Science and Engineering teacher. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Geography- Earth Science. Mrs. Malcom has 16 years of teaching experience and has faithfully served at various LEISD schools including Oak Point, Hackberry, Brent, Zellars, and PSA.
An aspect that Mrs. Malcom loves about teaching Science and Engineering is the hands on experience, creativity, and problem solving that occurs. She loves watching inquiring minds at work. “I love watching how my students problem solve and come up with unique solutions.” Mrs. Malcolm’s teaching goal is to develop thinkers, explorers, and learners not only here at school but everywhere and at anytime. Teaching Science and Engineering allows her to fulfil both her passion and educational goal.
Mrs. Malcom is the proud wife to her wonderful husband, Erik, and they have two wonderful children, Sara and Jack. In Mrs. Malcom’s free time, she loves spending quality time with her husband and kids. An interesting fact about Mrs. Malcom is that she graduated from Little Elm High School, GO LOBOS! Over the years, Mrs. Malcom has seen the growth in the district and is proud to be a part of the Lobo FamilLE and loves teaching here at PSA!
PSA is also proud to have Mrs. Malcom as a part of the PSA family. We would like to congratulate Mrs. Malcom on her accomplishment and all the hard work and support she provides our children!
