Online Safety
Stay safe where ever you are!
Strong Password
You should always have a password no matter what it is on. This password of which you choose must be easy to remember of course, but also strong so no-one else can access your data. To make a strong, secure password you need to make sure it not only has both letters and numbers, but also has lower and higher case letters. This will make it harder to access your personal data. when you choose your password you should make sure it is not a name, address or postcode as it is easy for hackers to find these out.
Secure Wireless
No matter where you are and how safe you think your neighbourhood is, there will most likely be someone there wanting free access to the internet. meaning you are paying for your own and their internet. To prevent this it is simple, use a strong password (see how to do this above). Remember that there should always be a password to protect your internet and anything else which can be hacked or easily took.
Anti-Virus Software
Always have anti-virus software on your computer such as Norton, AUG, AVAST. Having these softwares here for your need will help alot when getting virus'. They will tell you when you go on to a website, whether it is dodgy or not. It will also try to delete any virus' spotted on your computer as soon as possible.
Bluetooth
You should always have a password on your bluetooth as well and you should turn off your bluetooth when you are not using it. This will stop people hacking into your phone to use or take any personal information. They can also send many different virus' through bluetooth.
SNS
On all social networking sites you should have passwords on obviously to stop people gaining information about you. You should also only ever talk to people you know though as there are horrible people out there wanting to gain your information, which they can do through chatting, messages and going on to your account due to you not logging off or not using a secure and strong password.
