And then there were more...
This past week we welcomed back our 3rd-6th graders, who joined our PreK-2nd graders for Hybrid Learning.
PreK-2nd grade In-Person Parents - Please remember that your child will attend school everyday M-F in the coming week (October 19-23).
3rd-6th grade In-Person Parents - Your child will participate in Hybrid Learning next week and will begin attending everyday M-F on Monday, October 26.
I would like to thank everyone for their patience as we have welcomed students back onsite at Broken Arrow.
We will continue to improve and gain momentum in our days ahead so things like dismissal flow even more efficiently.
I also want to give a shout out to all of our Remote Learners. I have had the opportunity to pop in and see all of the hard work that has been happening online. Keep up the awesome job!
Have a wonderful fall weekend!

Broken Arrow to Receive Title I Funds
When new data was gathered last month our free/reduced percentage increased and Broken Arrow will again receive Title I funds.
These funds support family engagement, additional student support staff, and student/school needs.

Student / Classroom Cohorts
As mentioned previously, our students have been assigned a cohort group who they sit near in the classroom, the line, during specials, and at recess, etc.
The purpose of the cohort groups is to minimize the number of students who would have to be quarantined due to an exposure. We want to keep our students in school!
Please know that the cohort groups will be changed after extended breaks/days off from school, to allow students opportunities to interact frequently with others.

Broken Arrow PTA Needs You!
Dear Broken Arrow Community,
My name is Lucinda Adams, the president of the Broken Arrow Parent Teacher Association (BA PTA). Amidst uncertainty this year, the BA PTA is focused more than ever on giving every child at our school a voice. Throughout the year you will see these efforts in everything we do! No matter where school is held this year, the BA PTA will be here for your child.
EVERY CHILD, ONE VOICE… For the BA PTA this means that the success of our students is our #1 priority. To achieve this goal and to provide even more educational enrichment than in past years, the 2020-2021 membership goal is 100 members.
With your help, we know we can achieve this goal!
So, what does the BA PTA do and why does it matter? Last year, thanks to the incredible support from parents, teachers, staff, and the community, the BA PTA was able to raise funds fulfill critical needs. This included direct support for our teachers, specials staff, principal initiatives, field trips, before and after school club support, social events, and enrichment opportunities.
In addition to raising funds, we connect families and help parents and caregivers stay informed about school happenings and important news. Please join our Facebook page, to stay up to date with BA PTA discussions, events and important information!
When you join the BA PTA, you are joining an organization whose mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We do this by joining together as advocates for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth, promoting the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth, and advocating for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding. Each day on a local, district, state and national level PTA members are advocating for all children. When you join the BA PTA you join that collective voice.
The goal this year is to provide opportunities for families to engage in their student’s educational experience. If you have ideas on ways the BA PTA can support the needs of our school community, please reach out to me at baptapresident@gmail.com, I would love to hear your ideas! Whether your student is in-person or remote learning doesn’t matter—your BA PTA will still be here to support you through the year. If your students are remote learners, please know that you will still be connected to our school, our community, and other parents and caregivers that have made the same choice.
During this school year we will all face new challenges as we navigate the pandemic. The BA PTA, along with the Kansas PTA, is committed to ensuring the best education for all students. Join the BA PTA today to ensure that your voice is among those advocating for our students, teachers, and community. You can sign up online at brokenarrowpta.org. We hope you will join us!
If you have any questions, reach out at any time. We’re here to help!
With Trailblazer Pride,
Lucinda Adams
2020-2021 PTA President
