Parent Teacher Conferences
Dear Parents,
AISB invites all parents to endeavor to attend the 2nd semester conferences that will be student-led on Thursday March 31 and Friday April 1. The conferences will begin at 1:00PM on both days. Dismissal will be at 12:00 and students will not be served lunch at school. Please arrange for transportation accordingly.
Elementary parents have received a schedule with specific times for each family. In the secondary school, conferences will be on a first come, first served basis.

Here's a reminder for every parent to let us know their plans for next year. This enables us to plan our classes effectively and to place teachers accordingly for next year.
Every year on March 14, the wold celebrates Pi Day to recognize the mathematical constant Pi. It is has become an annual event at AISB and students were engaged in different group activities to find the value of Pi (3.14) by measuring the circumference and diameter of different objects.
AISB celebrated the Press and Media Week "Semaine de la Presse" to help students from elementary through High School to understand the media system, to form critical judgement, to develop their taste for current events and to forge their identify as citizens.
The week consisted of field trips to different media houses such as DRTV, Vox TV, Les Depeches de Brazza and culminated in a Q&A session with students as well as presentations as they shared their learning with the rest of the school community.
Community Center Days
Every 6-8 weeks, AISB organizes a Community Center Day whose vision is to support the physical, social, cultural and academic needs of our students, parents and community members by offering enriching activities and events. Everyone is invited and invitations usually go out in advance for all to attend.
Talent Show
As part of our objectives to provide a holistic education, AISB organizes an annual Talent Show to provide a platform for our students to showcase their skills and talents, build their confidence and bring our school community together.
AISB's Participation in the International Women's Day Panel Discussion at WHO
On March 8th, the International Women's Day, our students participated in a WHO-organized panel discussion under the theme, "Gender Equality for a Sustainable Tomorrow."
Science Fair
On March 14, AISB organized a school-wide Science Fair
- To encourage the curiosity and creativity of our students
- To enable students to think and act like scientists by designing experiments which follow the Scientific Method
- To teach students how to do an independent research project
- To develop quality education in science and technology
- To develop communication and critical thinking skills
Black History Month
On February 18, a Black History Month assembly was held with presentations from all grade levels across the school to honor the contributions and legacy of African Americans and their integral role in the American society both in the past and present. AISB explored the theme of "Injustice" and also celebrated heroes in the African diaspora.
100th Day of School
February 8th was our 100th Day of school and students in elementary always have fun celebrating this milestone in their learning journey by dressing up as 100 years old people and playing games related to the number 100.
AISB Devices on Sale
AISB has turned 10 and as we review our resources and reinvest in more up to date devices, we would like to offer those that we consider obsolete but that are still in good condition and could be used by kids and individuals outside of the school. The culture of celebrating success and student achievement at AISB has brought about increased performance in the secondary school and especially in High School. Every quarter, the number of students on the Honors list is on a steady rise. This year's Senior class is composed of six students and as we look forward to more university admissions, we are glad to announce that they have already received acceptance letters from 12 universities and colleges in the USA and Canada with a total of $112,500 in scholarships so far. We wish our Seniors the best of luck as they go through the choice making phase of their college preparations.

Students receive two awards in elementary school each quarter; one for academic excellence and the other for behavior in each grade level.

Please take note that Wednesday May 25 will be full day while Friday May 27 would be a school holiday.
Also, the last day of school for the summer break will be on Wednesday June 15 and school will dismiss at 12:00.
International Day/Open
One of the most popular events at AISB is the International Day. This will take place on April 29 and part of the event will serve as an Open House for prospective parents, embassies and organizations in Brazzaville. The objective of the International Day is primarily to celebrate our national, multi-cultural, and linguistic diversity and to develop pride in our unique identities through parade, music, dance, food, games, etc.

A peek in the past!
Spring Break
School will be closed from Monday April 4 until Monday April 11 when we will resume classes.
MAP Testing
On May 2-13, the Spring session of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Test will be administered from Kindergarten to grade 12.
Second Semester Finals: Secondary Exam Only
On May 30-June 3, all students in the secondary school will take their final exam.
PROM
It will take place on the night of June 3rd.
A promenade dance, commonly known as prom is a custom or dance party for high school students where the Juniors and Seniors dress up formally and participate in activities surrounding a dance such as bidding farewell to the seniors.

The event will take place on June 8th (Morning)
Students in transition classes; Pre-K4, Kindergarten, Grade 5 and Grade 8 have a Promotion ceremony to mark the end of Pre-school, Kindergarten, Elementary school and Middle School. This also signifies their entry into Kindergarten, Elementary school, Middle School and High school respectively. AISB celebrates milestones!
