Broom please? The Lady Brickies completed a 1-2-3 SWEEP of 1-meter diving ... then again, LaPorte didn't have any divers ... but that's beside the point - our girls were TERRIFIC! Sophomore Alivia Ahner won her 9th consecutive dual meet with a score of 201.25 and was backed up by freshman Sydney Arias in 2nd and senior Mackenzie MacRoberts in 3rd
Our girls record improves to 9-1 on the season! Munster swims to town this Tuesday for a SHOWDOWN of the 2 BEST TEAMS in the Northwest Crossroads Conference - GOOD LUCK LADIES!

Coach Tomsci wasn't the only thing Highland brought on Friday night ... 1,000-pt scorer Michaela Schmidt joined him and the Lady Trojans for this key NCC match-up. Early on, it was a defensive struggle as both teams had trouble finding the bottom of the net. The first quarter ended with Highland holding an 11-8 advantage on the scoreboard. The next 8 minutes saw much of the same as physical play and TOUGH D-D-D-DEFENSE ruled the court. The Lady Trojans clung to a 19-15 lead at the half. The 3rd quarter is always BIG as teams look to gain control coming out of the locker room - unfortunately for the Lady Brickies, Highland was able to seize some control as they finally found some offensive rhythm and beat Hobart 14-7 for the quarter and extended their lead to 33-22 going into the final 8 minutes of play. The Lady Brickies pressured. battled and challenged the entire way, but just could not cut into the deficit ... losing 44-34 as junior Grace Nestich buried a 3-point shot as time expired.
The girls FOUGHT HARD and held Highland's top scorer Schmidt to 17 points - most of which came in the decisive 3rd quarter. Junior Grace Nestich led the Lady Brickies with 13 points. Seniors Samantha Vode and Amaya Shinkle backed up Nestich with 8 and 7 points respectively. Junior Gabbie Ramirez cleaned the glass for a team-high 8 rebounds.
