Presidents's report: 2014 Year End Wrap Up!

We are just one week away from a very well deserved winter break. So much has happened in the first half of the school year! We are already busy with plans for the next half of the school year.

The final days of this month still enables you to donate to our 100% Participation Coyote Direct Donation Campaign. Your tax deductable donation can be made anytime before December 31st, 2014 to count toward this year's taxes. The benefit to you, your student and our community at Canyon View is immeasurable. Programs such as STEAM, Spelling Bee, Artist in Residence, Choir, and Coyote Book Club are provided to all students. Additionally, Canyon Boo, field trips and Dr Seuss Week are organized to help build community spirit. Without these programs, our campus would not be rated as high as it has been on

To date, we can count over half our families as proud donors in the 100% Participation Coyote Direct Donation campaign. Never before in the history of the Catalina Foothills School district has 100% participation taken place in a Direct Donation Campaign. Our families can make this happen! Let's make it happen! Backhoe Joe by Lori Alexander was just released in September and our school was the first on her book tour! Mrs. Alexander introduced the children to the characters in her book, explained how she got the ideas to write the book and even had time to sign copies for each student. This was an amazing experience for students to learn that following a dream, even if you get rejected, can ultimately lead to great things. Every child took home an autographed copy.

Staff Holiday Luncheon this Friday, December 19th in the library.

Staff and teachers have been looking forward to this for quite some time. The FFO elves have been busy ordering from Honey Baked Ham but we need your homemade goodies to complete this luncheon. Salads, side dishes, drinks, and treats are needed, so please sign up here.

We are also in need of baked cookies, brownies and goodies to send home with all our staff members. Label all containers because our staff love to know who was cooking up the treats. Plus it is easier to return the containers to the rightful family.
