Safety Reminder

No visitors (including parents) may not enter the buildling during arrival or dismissal. This is to ensure safety for all students and staff. If you need to enter the buildling with your child you must enter through the front doors and check in at the office. We appreciate your cooperation.

Car Riders

A few reminders to ensure safety for all.

Car Riders:

  • Children will exit their cars on the right side of the vehicle (closest to the school buidling).
  • DO NOT get out of the car, staff will be available to help students out of the car as needed. If you need to get out of your car please park in the parking lot.
  • Cars are REQUIRED to pull up as far as possible. Pay attention to the adults directing the cars; cars are not permitted to stop directly in front of the doors.
  • When entering the school car rider line please use your turning signal so that our crossing guard knows if you are turning into the school or not.

Husky Heroes

Highland Park is excited to share Husky Heroes - A new Spin on Volunteers. HUSKY Heroes connect male adult volunteers (dads, grandparent, uncles, etc.) to activities such as classroom helper, supporting individual students with practicing basic math or reading skills, lunch or recess buddy, library helper, Hall Monitors and special projects during a Half or full day at HPE. Husky Heroes may also be used to increase supervision/safety for HPE events.

In September, families will receive where they will be able to sign up to spend a day (or two) at HPE. We will have openings beginning in October and you will secure the date that works best for you. During the course of your day’s schedule, you will get to eat with your Husky and go to their lunch recess. You will also get to volunteer with their class and assist throughout the building.

To be a Husky Hero, please start by watching the video below and complete a volunteer eligibility form. Both of these will be shared in the Husky Headline and can also be found on our HPE web page under the Volunteer icon. Note: Photo IDs are required on your first visit.

Step 1: Watch video: Becoming a Volunteer in LSR7

Step 2: Complete Volunteer Acknowledgement Form

Husky Hero T-shirts will also be available for purchase for adult volunteers.

*** Regular volunteer opportunities will still be available through classroom teachers and PTA. This is in an effort to increase male volunteers within our school!
