Important Changes to Birthday Celebrations
We love all kinds of celebrations at school! Here's how we can safely celebrate your child's birthday.
Because of COVID-19 safety practices, we are not allowing cupcakes to be brought into our schools at this time. However, if your student would like to bring a birthday treat or class snack, pre-packaged, individual serving treats/snacks in their original, unopened box/container will be allowed.
Examples of birthday treats include granola bars, fruit snacks, apple sauce packs, and Little Debbie style snack wrapped brownie/cookies. Healthy choices such as apple slices, baby carrots, string cheese sticks, pretzels, Goldfish® crackers, Rice Krispies® treats, etc. are also encouraged!
Please drop off these items at the school office at least 2 days prior
to when they would be distributed.
Free Breakfast & Lunch Available for All Students
All Ott students can take advantage of free breakfast to start each school day. Meals will be served in classrooms.
Free breakfast and lunch are available for all ISD students through the end of the 2020-2021 school year thanks to ISD Nutrition Services and a federally funded program. For in-person learners, free breakfast and lunch are available during regularly scheduled meal times for students at all ISD buildings. For virtual students and students learning virtually as part of the Hybrid Plan, free drive-up meals will continue to be available Monday through Friday at Truman, Van Horn and William Chrisman from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Elementary and middle school students should pick up meals at the high school associated with their feeder elementary or middle school as determined by their home address. Parents can drive up along the front entrance drive and our staff will bring meals out so you do not need to get out of your vehicle.
