Enjoy a lovely four-day weekend! Classes will resume Tuesday, September 3.
For your planning purposes, looking ahead there is also no school on Friday, September 20 for a Staff Development day.
Early Dismissal
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3,
1:30 p.m.
We will dismiss early on Tuesday so that our faculty may participate in iReady professional development. Please to not forget to send lunches with your students as this is essentially still a full day. Extended Day services will be available as usual.
Frankfest Planning
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3,
7:00 p.m. IN EXTENDED DAY
Here's your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the Frankfest planning! Our annual back to school party is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year for students, staff, and families alike--this year it will take place on Friday, Sept. 13. Attendance at the planning meeting will earn you a volunteer hour, and you'll have the chance to ask questions and contribute ideas. The Signup link for volunteer slots that evening is here: Frankfest, 2019.

We are excited to announce that registration for Choir (4th-8th grades) and Karate (ages 9 and up) is now open! Our new Garden Club will be open to SAS students in K-8th--information will be available soon!

Angels Among Us
The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools theme for the 2019/20 school year will be Angels Among Us. As we live out our educational ministry, we know we are surrounded by many Angels. Some of these Angels are heavenly, and they provide us with inspiration, guidance, and protection. Other Angels are earthly . . . our Catholic schools benefit deeply by the talents and support of our dedicated teachers, volunteers, and other supporters. We know that Angels are present throughout scripture, from the proclamations of the old testament to the celebration of Christ’s birth at the nativity.
Head Room Parents
Many of you signed up with your teachers already to be Room Parents. Thank you so much for that! Your children will reap the benefits, plus, they are so excited to see their moms, dads, and other special people helping out. Each grade does need to have one Head Room Parent to organize the teacher's special goings-on, manage the volunteer efforts, and represent the class from time to time. Our Head Room Parents will receive the full 15-hour volunteer credit for the year! Would you be able to fill that role for one of your children's classes? 1st-4th grades still do not have head room parents. Claim your spot at the links below:
Weekly School Masses
We attend Mass together as a school community every Wednesday morning in the Church at 9:00 a.m. Please join us any time!
