Message From the New Principal
Dear Highland Park Middle School Community:
I am delighted to be chosen as your next principal! Although the new post officially begins on July 1, rest assured that I have been working closely with our staff, including our retiring principal, Charlene Hoff, to make sure my transition into the principal position will be smooth.
I am proud to be leading such a strong and committed staff, including my replacement as assistant principal, Luis R. Saenz. Mr. Saenz is has led district-wide equity programs in both South Washington County Public and Saint Cloud Public Schools. He also served as a community liaison coordinator in South Washington County Public Schools. In addition, Mr. Saenz is both an English and Spanish speaker. Along with the strengths and accomplishments of our current assistant principal, Ms. Hibaq Mohamed, I am thrilled be leading this fantastic new team!
I have already overseen some important changes for the 2022-23 school year. We will have a new school schedule which keeps our current 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. school day, but within that day, offers longer class periods for deeper and more enriched learning opportunities for our amazing students.
Enjoy the upcoming summer break! For those families whose students are moving on to high school, I am so proud to have served you and your student. For families continuing with us next year, thank you for your support. I look forward to an amazing 2022-23 school year!
Regards,
John Andrastek
New Principal
