Un Segundito

October 17th and 18th, 2016

Short Week

This week is going to be very short due to the MEA in Minnesota. Things to remember:

  • Spelling quiz will be Tuesday, October 18th.
  • Monday, October 17th, if weather permits students will be taking a running exam for P.E outside. Please have students bring jackets/sweatshirts for going outside.
  • Tuesday, October 18th we have an anti-bulling day, the entire school is encouraged to wear something orange.

Homework

Poem of the Week

The Poem for this week is "La Lluvia". I am sending a page home for students to have as a reference. Since the poem is longer and they will have more time to practice I will be giving $15.00 to every student that memorize the poem and recite to our class.

This Friday and Saturday I will be participating in CARLA's (Center for Advance Research on Language Acquisition) conference at the University of Minnesota, which only takes place each four years. I am very excited about this opportunity to catch up with the latest research in second language acquisition as well as to get know what schools around the country are doing in this area.
