Message from Dr. Frischkorn
Hello Mayfield!
It's hard to believe, but the end of the school year is quickly approaching. With the end of the school year, we also need to begin preparing for our end-of-the-year assessments. Students will be participating in the Standards of Learning (SOL) exams for mathematics, reading, and science. The SOL exam schedule will begin on May 3.
5th-grade students will be participating in the SOL assessments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 6th-grade students will be participating in the SOL assessments on Thursdays and Fridays. The school will provide transportation, but parents can drive their children to school and pick them up.
One important item that we must have before finalizing our testing procedures is to get an accurate count of the students participating in the SOL assessments. We ask parents to complete the following survey to inform us of their child's intentions for participating.

SOL Testing Update
5th Grade SOL Exams:
- Math- May 11th and 12th
- Reading- May 4th and 5th
- Science- May 18th and 19th
6th Grade SOL Exams:

Testing will occur in small groups, so not all students will test on the same days. We will communicate your child's specific dates and transportation information over the next few weeks. Manassas City Public Schools understands your concerns regarding the pandemic's impact, and MCPS wants you to know all necessary mitigation steps to ensure a safe testing environment.
Homerooms will be divided into two different groups. Group 1 students will test on a specific day, and group 2 students will test on a specific day. Testing group sizes will range from 8 to 12 students per group. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to the students during the day.
As we work towards finalizing our SOL schedule and testing procedures, we ask that you please fill the form below to let us know your testing preference for your child.
