Mrs. Pierce's Principal Message

As we start a new week, I am so proud of all of our students. They trudged through the cold mornings and shared many warm smiles with one another. They are doing some fantastic projects and living out their faith. Grade 7 and 8 are enjoying Genius Hour and developing some very interesting research and projects on their own. Grade 8 was busy with their second grade buddies exploring with Lewis and Clark on their journey with story boards. Sixth grade made math look easy as they were subtracting mixed numbers! There was critical thinking and problem solving real world scenarios and evaluating their work. Fifth grade is studying grammar in preparation for sentence diagramming. Fourth grade measures up as they learned how to measure with different starting points on the ruler. Third grade continues to work on their scientist projects. You can count on first grade to count money as they played math money games.

Kindergarten is gearing up for the 100th day of school on Thursday and making their 100 Poster! Prek-4 is hoping for snow as they play snowmen games in math. Prek-3 was busy in science and loved learning about the cold climate and polar bears. Oh my!

Our Trojans are taking to the courts this week. Thanks to great coaches and practice skills in PE, we are shooting for success! Art class is always bursting with creativity! I love to see their sketchbooks and their original ideas! Spanish class is beginning a study on Frida Kahlo. Students are busy learning rhythms, preparing for Spaghetti Dinner Performance, and working on puppet plays for the Spring semester. We have so many talents and gifts from God!

Second grade did a super job hosting Mass this past week! I really enjoyed the music by the choir and the students! One song, “The Summons” reminds me that we are all called by God to follow Christ. In this week’s gospel from Mark, Jesus tells us to come and follow him. He starts with the apostles, but the gospel is for everyone. If I had Jesus call my name, would I drop everything and follow? Take time to be in His presence this week, pause, and listen to how Jesus wants you to bring His people closer to him. Go and grow disciples!

Have a blessed week!

Mrs. Pierce
