October is National Physical Therapy Month
As the weather cools in the fall, it’s tempting to be less physically active, but October is the perfect time to focus on healthy self-care because we’re celebrating National Physical Therapy Month!
Let’s make this month all about taking care of ourselves and our families. Find new ways to practice self-care, such as taking a yoga class, a dance class or just being more active and walking as a family after school or dinner. When we pay closer attention to our physical habits, we are more likely to take the steps we need to make changes. For example, if you notice you tend to slump while working at your computer, or at your desk, you can start to correct your posture by sitting up straight, which can help prevent aching muscles. You may be surprised to find that indulging in a little “me time” is good for you mentally and emotionally, as well as physically.
Enjoy the month of October!
