It's a New Year!

Boosterthon: A Huge Success!

Thanks to all of our students, staff, family, and friends for participating in our 1st ever Boosterthon Fun Run! Over $19,663.00 was earned for our students and staff. Each class was awarded 10% of the funds collected at the first count. Several of our teachers used that money to buy new books at our book fair for their classrooms!

Congratulations to Ja'nia Geiger who collected $1,227.50 and to Ms. Andrieski's 2nd grade class for bringing in $4,120.00. Amazing job NSE family!

Book Fair Reading Oasis

The PTO sponsored book fair raised over $3,000 for our Media Center! It was our most successful book fair in years! A huge thanks to the over 300 grandparents who came to enjoy lunch with their grands and the countless volunteers who helped throughout the week! With these funds, Mrs. Glover will be able to work her incredible media magic with our students!

Coke, Box Tops and Publix Rewards

You won't believe how these little things add up quickly to help improve our school!

-Coke reward points are over 13,000!! Last year we had a total of 5,000.

- Publix sent us a check for $267.92!!

-Box Top earnings thus far are $2,216.40!!

Every little bit helps! Keep them coming- we will be collecting them all year!

You can send them in at any time to your child's homeroom teacher.

Where do PTO funds go?? How did we spend $18,000?

Here is just a snippet of how PTO funds were used to improve our school. We will highlight the Related Arts areas in this newsletter but stay tuned for more information!

Physical Education: Pedometers, Parachute, Hula Hoops

Music: Props and Costumes, Instrument repairs, new grade level/ chorus music

Information Tech: USB Camera, Speakers, various school wide computer subscriptions

Art: Various visiting artists

Design Center: Utility tables, Heat control window film

Media: Accelerated Reader quizzes for new books

JUST IN: In conjunction with School Improvement Council (SIC), the PTO has funded an upgrade in our Accelerated Reader (AR) program to provide a substantial increase in the number and genera of books available for AR testing. This will allow more teachers to use the program in the classroom everyday and our students more opportunities to read the books they love.
