From The Media Center...
Some parents have asked how they can see what books their child has currently checked out. Directions for this process were sent home at the beginning of our recent Media Madness. There is one change regarding your child’s password. It is now ba birthdate ba. For example ba0123ba. Finally, please follow us on Twitter to see some of the amazing work your children are doing but may not be able to bring home! @sycaMOREmedia
We are proud to be a part of enriching student learning through multiple types of media!

Payment Portal Payment Fee
Effective February 1st, a $1.00 per shopping cart fee will be charged for all payments made via parent portal.
Parents can add funds to each of your children's meal accounts at multiple buildings and pay other fees if applicable in one purchase (one charge to your credit card) and it will be just $1.00. You may want to use this payment method when you have multiple fees for example at the beginning of the school year.
You may also pay with cash or by check payable to Sycamore Community Schools. Payment for meal accounts should be given to the cashier in your child's cafeteria. Payment for all other fees should be submitted to the office of your child's school. Forms are available on the Treasurer's page of the district website to submit with pay to participate fees, school supply fees, etc. if you pay by check or with cash. Please use them to ensure that fees are credited appropriately.
SPRING OPTIONAL TESTING FOR IDENTIFICATION OF GIFTED STUDENTS
Although your child may or may not have taken the CogAT in December, you may request that your child be tested on the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT). If you wish to have your child participate in this round of testing, all requests must be made through the below online link by March 15, 2019. In order to decrease disruption to your child's instruction, this testing opportunity will take place prior to the start of the school day. We have scheduled this 45-50 minute testing session to be administered from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at (School Name).
Please note it is the parents' responsibility to provide transportation the morning of testing to your child’s building. Additionally, know that Sycamore cannot use kindergarten or first grade scores for gifted placement.

4th Grade parents, please join us...
Each year the counselors and administrators from E.H. Greene Intermediate School come to Blue Ash Elementary to present current 4th grade parents with information about their wonderful school.
This year they will be presenting March 28, 10:00 in the U.C. Wing.
We hope that you can make it, but if not, please know that there will be future sessions at E.H. Greene School, and future communication regarding this important transition.

ACTIVE AVES SPRING SESSION 2019
Active Aves is a fun recess running program at Blue Ash Elementary. We are so excited to start back up with the Spring session for the 2018/19 school year! The children can't wait to get involved with Active Aves again in a few short weeks!
The program will be every Tuesday and Thursday starting March 26th through May 2nd, only when outdoor recess is occurring. Volunteers are needed to help cheer on the kids, punch lap cards and hand out prizes. The children love this running program so much, as do the volunteers!
Each shift will have 4 spots available. First and Second Grade recess 11:45am-12:30pm. Third and Fourth Grade recess 12:45pm-1:30pm. There is a much higher student participation rate for the FIRST Recess block, so if you can volunteer for the first shift, 11:45am-12:30pm, your help would be so greatly appreciated!!
Here’s where you sign up to volunteer: https://bit.ly/2F7PZwx If no available shifts remain, please feel free to come, as we can always use an extra set of hands. You are also welcome to walk or run laps with the children. And please feel free to bring siblings!! This is a great activity for all ages.
Thanks in advance for your time and energy, so we can provide this fun activity for our kids!
