- State Testing Dates are Set! - See details below...
- Recreation Equipment - Parents if you have any new or gently use recreation equipment that you would like to donate to our "Toy Bin" for our blacktop time. As you can imagine, we go through a great deal of equipment throughout the school year. The ONLY equipment we would need is Basketballs, Volleyballs, Soccer Balls, Four Square or Kick Balls. Please no footballs. Thanks!

notes from the nurse
Dear Parents,
Just a few end of the year reminders from the Health Room:
Medications: Prescription and OTC
• If your student has an over the counter medication in the Health Room, please pick up no later than end of school day (half day) Thursday May 25 2023. Medications will not roll over to the next school year. Any unclaimed medication will be disposed of after this time.
• If your student has a prescription medication in the Health Room a parent must pick up by the last day of school. Prescription medications will be released to a parent only, regardless of the age of the student. Any unclaimed prescription medication will be disposed after the time designated above.
• Medication permission forms (Form M105) for prescription and OTC medications can be found on the FMSD website under Student Health Services. If your student has his/her yearly physical during the summer months and will need prescription medication available at school for the 2023-2024 school year, it would be a good idea to take a form with you to the appointment for physician completion and signature. These are also the same forms used for OTC medications, such as Advil or Tylenol, but OTC only requires a parent signature.
FMSD medication policies can be reviewed through this link:
https://www.fortmillschools.org/domain/59
Medical Paperwork
If your student had medical paperwork on file in the Health Room this school year you will receive and email with attached forms for the 2023-2024 school year. Please complete these forms and return to the Health Room on or before the first day of school. Keep in mind that if your student requires medication at school or needs to carry an inhaler or epi pen, the appropriate paperwork needs to be completed by parent and physician per district policy. Forms must be updated each school year.
Please feel free to contact the Health Room with any questions or concerns. Wishing you and your family a healthy and relaxing summer!
attention: 6th grade students/parents
Please make an appointment for your child to update their Tdap vaccination before next school year. All seventh graders will be required to get the Tdap vaccine to protect them against whooping cough (pertussis). One (1) dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) administered on or after the 10th birthday will be required for all seventh graders. It is strongly recommended that adolescents who have not yet received a dose of Tdap vaccine be immunized in advance of this requirement. Students who are not up to date with their Tdap vaccination may not be allowed to attend school. For more information, please visit www.scdhec.gov/health/vaccinations
Please send a copy of the SC immunization record to the school nurse once they receive the updated vaccination.

Do you know a middle school student looking for summer leadership opportunities? Then have them apply to join The 4-H Pinckney Leadership Program this summer!
Founded after the late Senator, Clementa Pinckney, the program aims to set forth the standards and principles valued by Senator Pinckney. Their goal is to empower students to serve with compassion, lead with humility, and inspire others through integrity. They hope to do just that through their summer programs.
Rising 7th and 8th grade students can have the full camp experience at Camp Long in Aiken, SC from July 16-21! The new application deadline for the additional camp spots is April 24th.
The application can be found on their website www.clemson.edu/Pinckney
