25 Years of Growing Together in Faith & Knowledge

Dear SFCS Parents & Friends,
Dear Parents and Friends of SFCS,
I was a good week back together last week at SFCS!
As with our greater community, we did experience an impact from this latest surge of COVID cases. In the course of the week we experienced 5 students and faculty who tested positive and 8 students who were quarantining for being deemed a close contact. Data from SCDHEC is still illustrating a rapid climb in cases in our area. We are well above the benchmark set for our local Catholic schools for our mask policy to go back to having masks optional. Hopefully this surge of cases will not last as long as the one we experienced early this school year.
I will be sending emails only for classes that have experienced a confirmed positive case while the student has been in class during school. Thank you for your assistance in monitoring for symptoms and communicating with us about any potential exposure at home. It continues to be our goal at SFCS to keep a safe environment while also maintaining an effective educational environment.
Tomorrow is the last day of the 2nd quarter and we will be conducting our Winter MAP testing session this week. Report Cards will be emailed home on Wednesday, January 19th.
Thank you to all the families that purchased the "Our Hears Will Rise" yard signs in preparation of Catholic Schools week. Catholic Schools Week this year will begin on Sunday, January 30th at the 9:00am Mass. Since this is our kick off event for the week all students and faculty need to attend. Students need to be in uniform. More information will come but I wanted to make sure everyone had this on their calendars.
Thank you and have a great remainder to your weekend.
Sincerely in Christ,
Brian Pope

Don’t forget to sign up for spring session at Moss Creek Equestrian Center. We will be hosting two schools for the spring session: St. Francis and Heritage Academy. Our program’s goal is to share the love of horses, learn how to care for the animal as well as riding. At the end of the session, we will host a friendly interscholastic competition. The co-ed team is open to students from each school 1st through 8th grade. The riding team will be an eight-week course meeting once a week (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday afternoons). At the end of the eight weeks, we will have a horse show for all the participants to compete as individuals and as a school.
The classes will be held starting:
February 15th Tuesday 4:30pm - Heritage Academy Beginners
February 18th Friday 3:30pm - St. Francis and Heritage Academy Intermediate / Advanced Combined

February 20th Sunday 3:30pm- St. Francis Beginners
February 20th Sunday 4:30pm - Heritage Academy Beginners
