English Muffin

Origins
Born in the U.S. by an English immigrant, English Muffins are small, round, flat, yeast-leavened bread commonly sliced horizontally and buttered and/or toasted.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Milk
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 1 (0.25 oz) package of active dry yeast
- 1 cup of warm water (110 Degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 1/4 cup melted shortening
- 6 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
