Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School

July 22, 2020 Newsletter

Dear Mount Sacred Heart Family,

It truly is amazing all that happens in a day with our community, our city, and our state. Your patience is greatly appreciated as we navigate these uncertain times with ever changing circumstances.

We have fantastic news, this coming school year, MSH will be regarded as a One to One (1:1) technology school. This means every student we will be assigned a personal device. First through eighth-graders will have access to Chromebooks, while Montessori and Kindergarteners will have access to iPads. Should the need arise to check out technology due to COVID, we will be ready.

We are currently waiting for a directive from Archbishop García- Siller and Superintendent West regarding when our school year will commence. One thing is for certain, the staff at Mount is working nonstop to continue to provide an excellent education in the safest environment for your child.

One of our top priorities is to ensure you are up to date on developments as we head into a new school year. Here is the latest:

  • As of today, the first day of school remains August 17. The state and local orders have caused a lot of confusion, we are working with the Archdiocese and information will be forthcoming.

  • Immunizations- whether you choose face to face or virtual, as per the Department of State Health Services your child’s immunizations must be up-to-date. Nurse Guerrero is emailing families as a reminder.

  • MSH Virtual learning- the student will participate in an Archdiocesan approved virtual curriculum that will coincide with standards being taught Face to Face. A Mount Sacred Heart coordinator will be responsible for the program.

  • Mari Gonzalez, our counselor has decided to spread her winds. She will be missed at Mount.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be in constant prayer.” Romans 12:12

While we may not have all the answers to what the future holds, know that we are here to serve you and your student. Should you have any questions or comments please feel free to respond to this newsletter, call 210-342-6711, or email

Continued blessings and safety to you all,

Tina M. Polin
