In terms of a product or a service quality is about gathering the minimum standard required to satisfy customer needs. Now, high quality products meet the criteria set by consumers. In several market industries a quality standard is laid down by individual organisations, for example: British Standards Institution (BSI).
Quality Assurance is a set of activities for ensuring quality in the processes by which products are developed. Quality assurance (QA) refers to planned and systematic activities implemented in a quality system to fulfill the quality requirements for a product or service.
Quality Control is a set of activities for ensuring quality in products. The activities focus on identifying defects in the actual products produced. Quality control is a process by which products are tested to uncover defects and the results are reported to management, which makes the decisions to allow or deny product release.
