Early Life
Joshua Wong was born on October 13, 1996 in Hong Kong to his parents Grace and Roger Wong. His parents were very religious and he went to a protestant Christian church. When Joshua was young, his dad took him to visit the less fortunate and told him that Joshua should care about the abandoned in the city.
Activism
Joshua Wong has participated in many protests and even a hunger strike. He hopes that these demonstrations will make Hong Kong elections more fair to all political parties. So far he has not been successful and hasn't been recognized for his work.
Hero?
A hero is a person who is courageous, outstanding and noble. Joshua is courageous because he risks being pepper sprayed and arrested when he leads protests. He is outstanding in that he has made a big impact on students in Hong Kong. Lastly, he is noble because he said he doesn't want to be idolized. This makes him a hero.
