Requirements for admission
Students must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:
- ACT composite of 20 or greater, or
- SAT (math + critical reading) of 940 or higher, or
- Unweighted high school GPA of 2.50 or higher, or
- Achieve the required Composite Admission Index (CAI) score
Students admitted to WKU may be placed in an appropriate academic support program based on academic needs at the time of admission. Students will be notified regarding any academic placement by the appropriate office.
What tests are required for beginning freshmen?
Either the ACT or SAT is required of all beginning freshmen.
What is the WKU Pre-College Curriculum?
English 4 credits...I, II, III, IV
Math 3 credits...Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry (or Integrated Math I, II, and III)
Social Studies 3 credits...Chosen from U.S. History, Economics, Government, World Geography and World Civilization
Science 3 credits...Chosen from Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth/Space Science (at least one lab)
Health 1/2 credit
Physical Education 1/2 credit
History and Appreciation of Visual
or Performing Arts
1 credit History and appreciation of visual and performing arts or another arts course that incorporates such contentForeign Language 2 credits...Credits must be from the same language.
