Week at a Glance
Marian Central Catholic High School Faculty Newsletter
January 26, 2019
It is always surprising when a short week seems so long! WIth our day off Monday for Martin Luther King's Birthday as well as having a surprise snow day on Wednesday, the week took on a feeling of hurry up and slow down! Hopefully in the midst of this crazy week you and your students were able to still feel productive!
Tuesday's Academic Breakfast went very well. We appreciate the Staffulty that came to help celebrate our students and their accomplishments. Thanks, also, to the cafeteria staff for setting the room and providing a wonderful spread of breakfast treats! These celebrations are always so wonderful!
This week will wrap up nicely with the Winter Snowball Dance tonight. A reminder to all chaperones... please plan to arrive by 6:15 pm. We ask that you help with clean-up after as well. Since the dance is from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, if everyone chips in, we will be done in no time! Let's help make tonight a wonderful time for our students!
Looking ahead...
Catholic Schools Week is upon us! Unfortunately, due to the clear threat of dangerous weather this coming week, it was clear that we had to cancel the All County Mass for this coming Monday, Jan. 28. This certainly does not mean that we cannot still celebrate the week, emphasizing on who we are and what we stand for as a Catholic school and community. The Catholic Schools Week theme is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. As part of this overarching theme are smaller themes that we can implement throughout the week including...
- Monday: Celebrating your community
- Tuesday: Celebrating your students
- Wednesday: Celebrating the nation
- Thursday: Celebrating vocations
- Friday: Celebrating faculty, staff, and volunteers
Check out the NCEA website for ideas on how to celebrate throughout the week!
Though the SIP team meeting was cancelled due to weather last week, the team anticipates meeting this Monday. We will be solidifying the 2019-20 Curriculum Guide so that we can begin the course selection meetings between Guidance and the returning students during the month of February. Additionally, during the past week, Guidance sent out Google Sheets to Department Heads for each department to determine course recommendations for our returning students. Please make sure that this is completed and returned to Guidance no later than Feb. 1. Thank you.
Have a wonderful week...
