Thursday, June 1: USED UNIFORM SALE 7:30 AM, 4th & 5th Field Trip, Character Dress-Dress up as your favorite character from TV, books or movies. The Senior Yard will celebrate Harry Potter characters in the afternoon during Triwizard Tournament.

FREE JUNE EVENTS AT LA JOLLA /RIFORD LIBRARY
Summer Reading Program – June 15 – August 15 - Earn prizes like museum passes, science-to-go kits, restaurant coupons, and free books just by reading! For ages 0-18. Sign up any time on or after June 15th and have fun all summer long.
Found Object Juggling Show – Friday, June 16, 10:00am – Michael’s show is a combination of hilarious tricks and uproarious standup. Watch as he balances a wheelbarrow on his chin, spins a cheeseburger on a parasol and juggles items!
Escape Room for Tweens & Teens – Friday, June 16, 7:00pm - Join us for a night of riddles, clues, puzzles and codes! Come on your own or in a small group and test your wits. Can you solve the clues before time is up? Don’t worry; it’s safe. Presented by the La Jolla Library Teen Council. Ages 10 and up.
Design Your Own Story – Tween Writing Workshop – Sat, June 17, 3:00pm - Like writing or want to start? Join Sally Pla, author of “The Someday Birds,” (a Junior Library Guild Selection) for a lively writing workshop for tweens. Create engrossing characters, an engaging plot and a fully-realized setting for stories that are truly your own. Ages 8-11.
Free Movie & Pizza: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Wed, June 21, 6:00pm - Read the book, then watch the movie. Free pizza, candy, and soda! 2 hours 7 min. Rated PG-13.
Build with Rokenbok – Thursday, June 22, 3:30pm - Expand your STEM toolbox by seeing the world differently and thinking critically. Using Rokenbok 3D engineering systems, children will be introduced to the design process and build functional prototypes - all of it cleverly disguised as fun! Ages 6 and up.
Wild Animal Show – Friday, June 23, 10:00am - Learn about amazing wild animals
first-hand with a biologist or life scientist and at least 6 of their furry, feathered or scaly animal ambassadors. A unique educational experience that will make children eager to learn more.
NEW! Chinese Storytime – Every other Saturday starting June 17, 1:00pm - Join us for a bilingual Chinese language storytime meant to introduce Chinese language, culture, and storytelling to young minds. Learn basic Chinese words and learn about the meaning of Chinese cultural events and holidays during the year. All ages.
