10 Literacy Practices that Can Have a Powerful Impact on Literacy Development
Literacy knowledge and skills developed in kindergarten through third grade predict later literacy achievement. Classroom instruction can have an enormous impact on the
development of literacy knowledge and skills. Dr. Tanya Wright, from Michigan State University , will present what research says are the most powerful literacy practices for our kindergarten thru 3rd grade students. This professional learning session will focus on 10 research based literacy practices that can have a powerful impact on literacy development.
The Essential Instructional Practices in Early Literacy was developed by the Early Literacy Task Force, a subcommittee of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) General Education Leadership Network (GELN), which represents Michigan's 56 Intermediate School Districts.
