No School Monday
I hope that you and your family are all doing well and staying safe. We had a great week here at school! We saw tons of awesome valentine boxes that were elaborately decorated. Kids had lots of fun giving each other compliments and cards.
It looks like the cold weather is sticking around again this week. Please be sure that kids have warm weather gear to stay comfortable if they go outside.
Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or if we can provide support in any way. Thank you for your partnership in keeping the Robinson community safe.
Take Care-
Angeline

Description of the show:
It’s Jack and the Beanstalk with a modern-day twist. In this reimagined world, Jack and his mother struggle to live happily ever after. When his farm can't feed him, his community can't support him, and his mother can't take care of him, Jack takes matters into his own hands. After climbing the beanstalk and stealing the giant's goose, Jack flees home and discovers the goose's golden eggs have a mysterious, intoxicating power that turns his world upside down. How can something so good make everything bad? Can Jack turn things around to save his village?
Jacked! fuses storytelling and poetry with nonstop hip-hop and break-beat music in this fresh, energetic virtual production that uses hand-drawn animation based on visuals by designer Nick Kryah, exploring the imaginative boundaries of theater, film, and animation. And inside the story and the music is an age-appropriate message for children about substance abuse and its effects on our communities.
The cast includes St. Louis hip hop duo The Knuckles and MTC favorite Jarris L. Williams (last seen playing the title role in Ghost).

Prop R - Right for Kids, Right for Our Community
A Zero-Tax Rate Change Proposal Would Address Overcrowding, Safety and Security Challenges, and More
Faced with overcrowded classrooms and a lack of adequate instructional space in its schools, the Kirkwood School District Board of Education unanimously voted on Monday, Jan. 25, to place a zero-tax rate change bond proposal on the April 6, 2021 ballot.
The proposal, called Proposition R, is a ballot issue designed to provide the financial resources to address overcrowding and maintain class sizes with additional classrooms, update aging infrastructure and systems, enhance safety and security district-wide, and complete additional needed facility updates. If approved by voters, every building in the District would be improved. Proposition R requires 57.143% voter approval.
Prop R does not include a new elementary school building.

5th Grade Information
If you have a child preparing to go to Nipher, the information below is of importance. This year, due to having some students virtual and some in-person, we decided to create a Google Form to help our rising 5th grade families make scheduling/course requests. There is a beginning band and orchestra option for students who have no prior experience.
All 5th grade students should have this form completed by a parent/guardian. Parents can complete the form at any point, and we need one from each family by Friday, March 5th.
Here is the link to complete the form: https://forms.gle/qfpgWcf6ovFwN2Gx7
Save the date for March 3rd at 6:30 pm for a 5th Grade Parent Webinar. Learn about course selections, daily schedule, clubs/activities, and so much more! Zoom link will be sent to all parents the week of the event.
Thank you for your help as we prepare our students transition to Nipher.
