MY EXPECTATIONS FOR LANGUAGE ARTS THIS YEAR

During this school year, I ambition to write in a more explicit and precise way. I wish to read challenging books and discover other genres that were unknown to me. I yearn to learn about the correct and appropriate use of grammar and spelling. I also crave to know about the English language and "where it all began." I aspire to have my English, writing and reading skills perfected and polished to be ready for all 9th grade has to offer me.

THE BOOK I AM NOW READING

I am currently reading Paper Towns, by John Green. It is the story of Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman. This story narrates the lives of two teenagers living in the modern world and their struggle to find themselves. Paper Towns offers "exhilarating adventures," comical conversations, and cryptic enigmas.

THE FIRST BOOK I WILL READ IN QUARTER 1

The Giver is a utopian book thats centers on the perfect community, government, lifestyle, etc., where jobs are assigned to each individual. The Elders observe and regulate the community and its inhabitants. The book is focused on the Receiver and the Giver, both in charge to presence the tenderness and allure of the real world, and to further act upon them.

MY FAVORITE ACADEMIC WEBSITE

TED is a nonprofit organization that devotes itself to spread ideas around the world. TED stands for Technology-Entertainment-Design. TED Talks are normally 18 minutes or less, this organization began in 1984, and it offers its conferences in 100 different languages. TED has within itself various branches, like TEDX, TED-Ed, and TED Prize. TED isn't only a reliable source of information, but also an avalanche of ideas that will change how you look at anything, basically. TED makes ideas blossom, and furthermore gives you support, the facts, information and other supporters to create your own theory of just about any subject.
