IMPORTANT NOVEMBER & DECEMBER REDISTRICTING PROCESS DATES
November 15 School Board Meeting: Presentation of the November 2018 updated, revised redistricting proposal recommendation to the Board (Public Meeting)
December 13- Special Board Meeting for Redistricting: School Board vote on redistricting plan (Public Meeting)
NOVEMBER 15 BOARD MEETING TO BE HELD AT NEWTOWN MIDDLE SCHOOL, TELEVISED AS NORMAL & YOUTUBE ACCESS
NOVEMBER 6 REDISTRICTING PROCESS UPDATE
The Redistricting Committee met most recently on Monday, November 5, 2018, to review community feedback collected from the most recent update to the proposed redistricting plan. The Committee also reviewed the six recent revisions made to the updated proposal. These revisions included the following:
1. Holland Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary Schools sending areas (reducing impact)
2. Newtown Elementary and Goodnoe Elementary Schools sending areas (reducing impact)
3. The geographic location near Tanyard Road, Hatboro Road and Routes 232 and Almshouse Road
4. The geographic location near Twining Ford Road
5. The geographic location along Worthington Mill Road and the southern section of Wrightstown Road
6. The geographic location near Hatboro Road, Almshouse Road and Spencer Road.
The majority of the Committee voted to keep the above six revisions in place. As a result, the November 2018 Updated Proposed Plan will be recommended to the Board at their next meeting on Thursday, November 15, 2018. A formal vote is scheduled to occur on Thursday, December 13, 2018, as part of a Special Board Meeting for Redistricting. Community members are advised that the Redistricting Email Center remains open, and feedback continues to be welcome.
CR EDUCATION WEEK, NOVEMBER 12-16
CR Education Week is scheduled to take place , next week, November 12-16. Traditionally held in January, the CR celebration of teaching and learning is being moved to November 12th through 16th so that it aligns with American Education Week. CR parents/guardians are invited to visit CR classrooms on the following dates and times of day:
Monday, November 12 - Morning
Tuesday, November 13 - Afternoon
Wednesday, November 14 - Morning
Thursday, November 15 - Afternoon

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING SURVEY
Council Rock is in the beginning stage of developing a three-year comprehensive plan that will be implemented in September 2019 and continue through August 2022. A state-mandated process, school districts undergo comprehensive planning every three years to analyze progress made, envision new conditions for educational success, and ensure that all students are achieving at high levels.

PDE TO RELEASE NEW MEASUREMENT TOOL FOR SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS

CR SOUTH CROSS COUNTRY TEAM TAKES 7TH PLACE AT STATES
CR SOUTH MARCHING BAND FINISHES WINNING SEASON LAST SUNDAY
The 2018 Council Rock South Marching Band performed their production entitled “Into the Light” for the final time last Sunday, November 4th, at National Championships in Allentown, PA. The band finished the season in 5th place with a score of 94.7874, winning caption awards of Best Color Guard and Best Visual Performance. The CR South Marching Band completed their season as State Champions!

SAVE THE DATE - CREF PRESENTS THE HARLEM WIZARDS; SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17
The world-famous Harlem Wizards will visit Council Rock South on Saturday, November 17 for an afternoon of great fun and fundraising. The Wizards will play a game against TEAM ROCK - a team of Council Rock School District teachers, principals, and administrators. This offers Council Rock families from across the school district a unique opportunity to come together as a community for a game that promises FUN for all.
The event will feature a variety of fun interactive extras to complement the Wizards' dazzling demonstration of hoops artistry: Pregame "Wiz Kids" warm-up, contests, comedy, awesome slam-dunks, audience participation, merchandise giveaways, and more. The game will conclude with the Wizards' signature dance extravaganza that will have the crowd on their feet!

ANNUAL TYLER STATE PARK HERD CONTROL ACTIVITY TO TAKE PLACE IN DECEMBER
Wednesday, December 5, 2018 is the one-day shotgun only hunt for both antlered and antlerless deer populations.
ALSO
December 26, 2018 through January 26, 2019 is the late season archery hunt in the park north of Dairy Hill Trail.
